Final Edit

When creating the beginning of our film our group worked together to create the video above. My contribution to the group was to film the actors and I also came up with the idea to add the colour red to the black and white images and edited it myself, while Dominik edited the shots and added the sound and Iona directed the actors and helped myself with the cinematography.

Prezi-Evaluation3

I DID THIS EXERCISE BY MYSELF, TO DO THIS EXERCISE WE HAD TO CREATE A PREZI ABOUT WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE OUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY, I DID THE TASK AFTER OUR FILM WAS MADE, I DID IT IN CLASS, DURING PREP AND AT HOME. I COMPLETED THE TASK WITH THE HELP OF THE INTERNET FINDING DEFINITIONS OF WHAT DISTRIBUTORS DO AS IT HELPED TO GIVE ME A BETTER UNDERSTANDING, I DID THIS TO EXPLAIN OUR FILM IN MORE DETAIL.

Evaluation 4 – Who Would be the Audience for Your Media Product?

34.-Hipster-300x300I BELIEVE THE BEST AUDIENCE MEMBER FOR MY GROUPS FILM WOULD BE THE HIPSTER AS THEY ARE A YOUNG GENERATION WHO ARE INTRIGUED BY THE OLDER GENERATION. HIPSTERS ENJOY TO WEAR CLOTHES FROM OTHER GENERATIONS AND OWN ACCESSORIES WHICH ARE EITHER VINTAGE OR ANTIQUE. THEY ALSO ENJOY “OLD FASHIONED” FILMS SUCH AS FILM NOIR.
  • FAVOURITE MUSIC ARTIST: ARCTIC MONKEYS, BEATLES, RADIOHEAD, THE PEOPLE, INDIE MUSIC

Props and Costumes

ALL COSTUMES AND PROPS WILL BE ORIENTATED AROUND THE ERA OF THE 1920-30S AS THIS IS THE TIME THAT MOST FILM NOIR MOVIES ARE SET.
COSTUME
DETECTIVES AND ASSASSINS WILL HAVE A SIMILAR DRESS CODE, THEY WILL BOTH WEAR A SUIT, A SHIRT, AND POSSIBLY AN OVERCOAT AND FEDORA (HAT). THE WOMAN ( ONE INNOCENT AND ONE A FEMME FATALE) WILL ALSO HAVE A SIMILAR DRESS CODE ALTHOUGH THE INNOCENT WOMAN WILL HAVE PURER CLOTHING ON WHERE AS THE FEMME FATALE WILL PROBABLY WEAR RED TO SYMBOLISE THAT SHE IS DANGEROUS.

(HOVER OVER THE IMAGES TO SEE WHAT COSTUMES I THOUGHT WOULD BEST SUIT THE ROLES OF OUR CHARACTERS)

PROPS
WE CHOSE PERIOD PROPS SUCH AS CIGARETTES, GUNS AND ALCOHOL FOR OUR OPENING TO OUR MOVIE AS IT REALLY HELPS TO REPRESENT THE 1920-30S. IN THIS ERA IT WAS EXTREMELY FASHIONABLE TO SMOKE AS THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THE HEALTH CONSEQUENCES, ALSO DURING THIS TIME WAS A PROHIBITION ON ALCOHOL WHICH MADE THE LIQUID A LOT MORE LUCRATIVE PUSHING IT UNDERGROUND AWAY FROM UNWANTED EYES INTO “SPEAKEASIES”. WITH ALL THE ILLEGAL SELLING, CONSUMPTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF ALCOHOL CRIME WAS BOOMING IN THE ERA WHICH FLOODED THE CITIES WITH GUNS MAKING IT EASY FOR ANY INDIVIDUAL TO GET THEIR HANDS ON A GUN.
